Amateurs Title Charge

Wythenshawe Amateurs continued their Manchester Premier League football title challenge with a hard fought 1-0 win over Prestwich Heys on Saturday.

After the enforced mid season break due to the bad weather both teams fitness was tested as every ball was challenged strongly, Wythenshawe’s Hughes first half strike turned out to be just enough to give the league leaders the three points.

Further good news for the Wythenshawe club came as Chairman Keith Bradley announced that Ted Beckham has agreed to join the board of Wythenshawe Amateurs football club.

Wythenshawe went four points clear at the top of the Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League, before the match at sixth placed Dukinfield.
