Fun in The Forest

01aStaff and pupils from Saint Paul’s Catholic High School in Newall Green had great fun taking part in a high-wire forest adventure in Delamere Forest.

The Year 11 pupils were enjoying the Go Ape experience, a giant obstacle course up in the trees using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire. They even had a go on one of the country’s longest zip wires.

“The Go Ape experience of swinging through the trees in a beautiful forest setting, is a great way to break down barriers, focus on individual development and help team building,” said Darren Mawn, a PE teacher at Saint Paul’s.”It gets the pupils out of their comfort zones and allows them to experience new activities whilst being excellent fun and great exercise.”

“As a school, we are passionate about motivating our pupils to believe in themselves,” explained Head Teacher Wiktor Daron at Saint Paul’s.”We encourage them to start their thinking with “I can” rather than “I can’t”.”
