Making Way For New Headquarters

Demolition work has begun on the site of the former Willow Park Cedars office on Poundswick Lane to make way for the Housing Trust’s new headquarters, scheduled to open at the end of 2010.

Willow Park staff, board members, local councillors and representatives from Hargreaves Construction, the appointed contractor, assembled at the site to mark the occasion.

Chief Executive of Willow Park, Joe Doherty, commented, “We are looking forward to bringing services into the heart of the community, enabling the Trust to work more efficiently and further improve services to tenants”

Chair of Willow Park board, Eddy Newman also added, “These are exciting times for the Trust, and the Wythenshawe area in general. The new head office will become a landmark facility alongside developments by other partners in the area. Each of these developments will contribute to the continued regeneration of the wonderful garden city of Wythenshawe”

In the meantime, whilst the new head office is being built, staff and services from Willow Park House will relocate to the Trust’s office on Benchill Road, from 27yj November 09. Services at the Portway office remain unaffected.
