well poppy on getting to the finals of wythenshawes got talant your our little star good luck babe love grandma + granddad xxxxx

I have great appreciation for all the hard work the competitors put in to go on wythenshawes got talent but I’ve heard a few unsavuory allegations,
1st that not all the girls in toe tappers were within the 12 to 17 age group
2nd that MC danceworks troupe u-11’s wasn’t allowed 2 children who were not in the age group
3rd that one of the girls in toe tappers has an auntie who was one of the judges.
Toe tappers should nt have been allowed as they were in it and won their category last year. I cannot begin to say how many people i heard complaining.
We all think the act we support are the best and should win, but I won’t be bothering to go watch next year. unless some one can refute these allegations and prove I’m wrong

All above statements about Toetappers are completly untrue. Before any entry forms were filled out we rang the organisers and explained we had 2 19yr olds who were willing to not dance if they were told so. We were told they could dance as long as the majority were between 12-17yrs which they were so dance they did without cheating or going behind the organisers backs. Their dates of birth were put on the entry forms for all to see. We knew no one in the judges and we are very sorry that MC Danceworks got told differently but that is not our fault. This a an open comp and as long as teams or solosists dont perform their previous winning song or dance then they have every right to take part again. We go to comps regulary where the same schools win year after year but we clap and congratulate them graciously we do not boo or shout things whilst they are performing. All these rumours have come about because we won and if anyone buys the DVD they will see why we won by a judges decision not the audiences which was very fair.

Well said Caroline we won because we deserved to. Our girls showed great grace which is what you have passed onto them.

as one of the organisers of wythenshawes got talent ,can i please ask people to stop all this unecssary arguing, can i also say that i for one am very strict on the rules, i helped to put to gether for the show,
no one cheated,
no one rigged the show in any way,
and all that this arguing will do is stop the show going on again. we wanted to bring people together show the world wythenshawe is the best place to be where all get on, and a sence of fairness is in every thing we do and say, i put lots of long hours and so did my friends, in the last 2 years to do this show, not for any profit etc, but because we belive in you, the people of wythenshawe,
if you saw the show you will see my friends and i didnt even get to keep the flowers, but hey, that didnt matter to us what mattered was that every one entered the show knowing there would be a winner and a looser,
thats the name of the game, and might i suggest that if you cant see it that way, then may be you should not enter the show.
we want your support to make this a brilliant show, and just because you won last year dose not mean you cant enter again and again and again,
the ages rule stands for all and we do, belive me, look very carefully in to ages, address, etc before we ask you to come along to the auditions,
because we want to be fair to all and i think all the entrants were brilliant, cant fault any one, i wish i was brave enough to get up on that stage and sing or dance etc so please lets hear an end to this and to all the un nessary arguing now and look forward to a bigger and better show next year (hopefully)

Response to Lorna…

Why should Toe Tappers be prevented from entering Wythenshawe’s got Talent???? Those girls in both categorys work very hard every week and often extra classes in preperation for competitions and shows and their parents work bloody hard to raise money for costumes Bag packing at super markets and sponserd events etc. Caroline is a terrific teachers who teaches and instills discipline and hard work and the girls. Poppy was a desrevd winner and we all showed our apprciation for all the acts and not just our own……. Sour grapes perhaps?
