Insight Into Construction
YEAR eight and nine students at the Manchester Health Academy were given a lively and detailed insight into all aspects of opportunities in the construction industry by the ‘Theatreand’ company.
Richard Hoyle, Constance Oak and Ryan Cerenko gave the students their own version of the infrastructure, entry routes to the many and varied career opportunities on offer all over the world in a variety of projects requiring a huge range of skills and qualifications for men and women.
It was of particular relevance to the students as a massive rebuild of their academy is now under construction to open its doors in Sept 2010.
The students would then be following up their own study of the Engineering Construction Industry and presenting it in class a few days later with particular research being done via the website www.ecitb.co.uk.
Academy student Bethany Miller said: “It was interesting to see the career options available and the presenters certainly dispelled a few stereotypical ideas we may have had about the construction industry before we enjoyed this lively presentation.”
