Wythenshawe’s Got Talent
Back by popular demand, Wythenshawe’s Got Talent 2009 promises to be even bigger and better and organisers are calling on the people of Wythenshawe to get involved.
Anyone can enter - from magicians to singers, dance troupes to Elvis impersonators. If you’ve got talent they want to hear from you!! The only condition is you must live or work in an M22 or M23 postcode.
There are three categories:
- under 11’s
- 12 to 17
- Adults
Registration packs are available from:
Parkway Green Housing Trust Offices, Willow Park Housing Trust Offices, Benchill Community Centre, Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre and the Royal Oak Community Centre or www.wythenshawesgottalent.co.uk
Registration packs need to be completed by Friday 25th September 2009.
Auditions will take place at the Forum on Saturday 10th of October and the Final will be held on Saturday 7th of November at the Forum. Tickets cost £6 for Adults; £4 Concessions and a Family ticket costs £14 (two adults, 2 concessions)
Last year’s competition was won by Parkway Green tenant, Harriet Wood, a singer from Northern Moor who impressed both the judges and the audience with a stunning performance of ‘Run to you’ by Whitney Houston to claim victory.
She said, “I’m over the moon to have won this competition it means the world to me!! Hopefully I can use this as a springboard to greater things and further my career”
One of the organisers Pat Higson said, “The event was a massive success, not just because of the number of talented individuals who came forward and took part, but also because of all the people of Wythenshawe who really got behind the competition. This year’s event will definitely be bigger and better”
