Friends of Parkwood

Local residents are invited to help Groundwork clean up Parkwood, Crossacres on Thursday 13th August 10.30am-3.30pm. Meet at the Longwood Road entrance. All equipment and light refreshments will be provided, but volunteers  should take a packed lunch.

Groundwork will have chainsaw artist Andy Barton  at Parkwood on Thursday 20th August  12 noon and members of the community are invited to help site two wood carvings in the woodland. Meet at the Crossacres Road/ Brownley Road entrance

Groundwork also are appealing to local people to join the Friends of Parkwood to keep up the good work, and to apply for more funding later in the year.  If you can not make the events but would like to know more please contact Groundwork on the number below.

Funding for the work in the woodland is thanks to Greening Greater Manchester, St Modwens Trust and WNF which runs until December 2009.  Groundwork are delivering the project on behalf of the Friends of Parkwood and in partnership with Manchester City Council and Red Rose Forest.
