Looking at Employability
Year 9 pupils from Newall Green High School were the latest participants in the BW3, Businesses Working with Wythenshawe, Job Search Skills programme.
Pupils were able to learn about the range of skills and attributes required to access employment, training and further education. Students received expert business guidance on how to look for a job, complete application forms, create a CV and present yourself for an interview before having an interview of their own.
The event was hosted at the offices of Parkway Green Housing Trust and in addition to meeting business experts pupils were able to experience a taste of the workplace environment.
Parkway Green Chief Executive, Nigel Wilson said. “ We are delighted to have hosted this event and our staff have thoroughly enjoyed working with such an enthusiastic group of students. Working with our local schools in this way not only helps to raise awareness of employers requirements it is a vital investment in young people and our potential workforce of tomorrow.”
Headteacher Neil Wilson said. “ Preparing our students for life after they leave Newall Green is crucial and I am certain today’s event will prove extremely valuable in the future. We very much appreciate the time invested by local organizations and the opportunity to understand more about the world of work.”
