Brenda’s a Member!

Brenda Grixti, Benchill Community Centre Manager for Willow Park Housing Trust was awarded an MBE in the Queens Birthday Honours List for her services to children and families.

Brenda said: “Benchill is an outstanding area. There is a lot of very positive work and regeneration going on this area and local people give a lot of respect to what we do here at Benchill Community Centre. We’ve just secured funding for the Centre for another 5 years and this will really make a difference to local people.”

Willow Parks Chief Executive, Joe Doherty, said: “We are all delighted to see Brenda honoured in the Queen’s Birthday honours. This is a wonderful and well deserved achievement. Brenda puts her heart and soul into everything she does for the Benchill community.

“For over 30 years Brenda has been a volunteer and her work has provided hope and opportunities for many local people. I can’t think of a more deserving person and it is fantastic news that she is rece iving such an accolade.”
