Boxer Bumby on a Roll

Carl Bumby Jnr from Jimmy Egans Boxing Acadamy kept up his winning streak with a convincing unanimous points victory over the much taller Steven Mulcahy from Mottram and Hattersley ABC.

Carl started at a fast pace hunting Mulcahy down keeping close and boxing on the inside not allowing Mulcahys long reach advantage to take effect. As the round went on Carl was slipping Mulcahys shots with good effect making him miss and landing clean shots to the head and body. His fast hand movement gave Mulcahy a standing 8 count at the end of round 1.

The second round saw more of the same with Carl pushing his opponent back, landing good hard body shots and clearly hurting Mulcahy.

In round 3 Carl was still landing the cleaner shots connecting with good uppercuts, Carls fitnes was there for all to see, with him still bouncing on his toes at the end and clearly enjoying the contest.

Watching at ringside was WBU world champion Michael Jennings who was impressed with Carl who now gears up for the school boy championships at the end of January.
