Pulling Tons To Pull In Pounds

Volunteers raised almost £4000 fro the Christie’s Appeal through a sponsored truck pull around South Manchester.
Organiser Simon Delaney, from the Firbank Pub in Newall Green, said, “It was a great success, the sin shone for every step of the 17-mile route, which covered all of Wythenshawe, Northenden, Withington, Didsbury, Parrs Wood, Cheadle and Gatley.

“My wife Rachael and I would like to thank everyone who took part on the day and Billy McCaffrey at NG Transport for providing the truck and driver.”

“The money we have raised will buy equipment for the new £35 million treatment centre due to open in 2010. which is dependant totally on fundraising and donations.

Christies Charity raises £12 million every year, without which the Hospital would not be able to provide the standard of care it does.

Manchester City Council granted a street collection permit licence No SC0115 to Simon Delaney to collect cash in Wythenshawe for Christie NHS Trust. The collection took place on Saturday 23rd August 2008 and £4000 was collected. No expenses will be deducted from this amount.
